- First-cleanse balm step of a double cleanse: warmed between dry hands, massaged onto a dry face to dissolve makeup and sunscreen, then emulsified milky with a little water before rinsing and following with a second, water-based cleanser.
- Pairs well with
- A second, water-based cleanser applied right after this balm is emulsified and rinsed
- A leave-on humectant or ceramide-forward moisturizer applied after the full cleanse
- Don't combine with
- A second oil-based or heavily emollient cleanser used back to back in the same session
- A leave-on AHA or BHA exfoliant applied immediately after this balm without an intervening water-based cleanse
