What is this product?

MEDI-PEEL RED LACTO COLLAGEN CLEAR FOAM CLEANSER 2.0 (120ml in a 1+1 pack, or 300ml) is a straight potassium soap wash: fatty acids at positions 2, 4 and 7 neutralised by potassium hydroxide at 5, so expect a squeaky, decisive finish that suits oily skin at night and not dry, sensitive or barrier-impaired skin. The collagen in the name is the smallest measured thing in it: of the six amounts disclosed on the 68-ingredient list, the lactobacillus ferment is 2,100ppm (0.21 percent) while the three collagen entries are 7,920ppb, 2,500ppb and 100ppb, about 0.00105 percent together, so the ferment outweighs all the collagen by roughly 200 to 1. MEDI-PEEL publishes no pH, and the acids at positions 29 to 31 carry no amounts, with salicylic acid largely ionised and so blunted in a soap base.

What makes it different?

Its disclosure is unusually numeric and unusually self-defeating, splitting figures across ppm and ppb so that 2,100 sits next to 7,920 on the page while the real quantities differ by more than two orders of magnitude. Seventeen free amino acids close the list, and MEDI-PEEL declares no fragrance, colourant or ethanol on it. Salicylate-reactive skin should still stay away.
