What is this product?
Dr.Althea's 345 Relief Spot Powder, 15ml, is a classic drying spot treatment for individual breakouts, with calamine third and titanium dioxide fifth of 42 ingredients over six acids and four tea tree materials, and it is emphatically not for whole-face use or for pregnancy, because denatured alcohol is printed second and salicylic acid tenth. Five ceramides and a centella group at the end are there to offset the stripping, and those six acids plus zinc PCA and tea tree carry the antimicrobial and keratolytic work. Dr.Althea publishes no amount for any acid and no pH, which is the number that decides whether six acids do anything.
What makes it different?
It is a deliberately old-fashioned product built with a modern tail, and both halves are unusual. The front is a mineral drying suspension, calamine and titanium dioxide in denatured alcohol, which is the chemistry of a chemist-shop spot lotion and is why it will leave a visible film and sting on broken skin. Layered onto that is a six-acid stack across four chemistries, salicylic, glycolic, lactic, tartaric, malic and gluconolactone, plus zinc PCA and tea tree in four separate forms, leaf water, leaf oil, leaf extract and whole extract. The tail is the part almost nothing else in this format carries: five different ceramides, NP, NS, AS, AP and EOP, with phytosphingosine, cholesterol and the centella group of madecassoside and asiaticoside. That is a repair set deliberately paired against a stripping vehicle. Use it on spots and not across the face, and skip it during pregnancy for the salicylic acid.
