What is this product?

beplain's Cicaterol Toner is for anyone whose skin reacts to everything and who wants a first step that adds almost nothing: the brand's own ingredient field prints five entries for this 200ml toner, with centella extract third at a disclosed 2 percent and beta-sitosterol last. That 2 percent matters, because most cica toners never say how much centella they carry and 2 percent is a real dose rather than a trace. The trade is that this does one job only, and the brand publishes no test of its own and files it as a non-functional cosmetic, so the 2 percent is the only number a buyer gets.

What makes it different?

Two unusual things here are both on the label rather than in the copy. The centella carries a printed 2 percent where most cica toners give no amount at all, and the name is honest about the formula behind it: cica plus sterol, and centella extract and beta-sitosterol are both among the five printed entries. What follows from a list that short is a real limit rather than a bonus, because those five entries carry no niacinamide, no panthenol, no hyaluronic acid, no ceramide and no exfoliating acid, so this soothes and hydrates lightly and does nothing else. One open question is worth knowing before buying: beta-sitosterol is oil-soluble and the printed list carries no oil phase or emulsifier for it to sit in, and nothing published says how much of it a water-based fluid holds.
