What is this product?

inyoe 3-Seed Cleansing Oil with 5% Olive Squalane is the rare cleansing oil whose label lets you check the maths: seven entries, four of them carrying a ppm figure, on a 200ml self-emulsifying first cleanse. Squalane is declared at 50,000 ppm (5 percent) and is what leaves the soft after-feel the product is sold on, but the three seed oils in its name are declared at 1,000 ppm (0.1 percent) each, so do not buy it for the seeds. What makes it different?

Two things separate it. First, disclosure: four of the seven entries carry a ppm figure, which declares 5.3 percent of the formula outright and puts the three unnumbered entries at roughly 94.7 percent, a sum almost nothing else on this shelf lets a shopper run. Second, the squalane: 50,000 ppm is a high declared level for something you rinse off, and it is the one lipid here that can survive emulsification as a thin film, so the after-feel is built in rather than promised. The counterweight is where the cleaning actually happens: in the ester base and the two nonionic emulsifiers, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate and Polysorbate 60, not the three seed oils the product is named for.
