Aestura's Atobarrier 365 Hydro Essence is the one to buy when skin holds no water rather than when it needs sealing: instead of one headline humectant it rebuilds the skin's own moisture-binding set, with 17 free amino acids plus PCA, urea, lactic acid and glucose among 49 ingredients, and no fragrance, dye, essential oil or botanical extract on the list. The evidence Aestura publishes matches that reading: a dermatological patch test, a sensitisation patch test, a 4-week acne-prone-skin suitability trial, each with dates and subject counts, plus a 292-person satisfaction survey from October 2020. All four measure tolerability or perception, none measures hydration, and no concentration or pH is disclosed for anything.

What makes it different?

It takes the moisture problem apart differently from the hyaluronic acid formulas it sits beside: 17 free amino acids alongside PCA, urea, lactic acid and glucose is a reconstruction of natural moisturising factor rather than a hyaluronic acid story, and squalane at 4th is the only substantial emollient, which keeps a 200ml essence light.
