What is this product?

COSRX's AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is worth considering if you want a daily acid step with nothing else in it: just 11 ingredients, glycolic acid seventh and betaine salicylate eighth, plus allantoin and panthenol, with no fragrance, no essential oil, no alcohol and no oil of any kind. What you cannot find out is how strong it is, because COSRX publishes neither acid amount and no pH of its own; the only pH figure anywhere is a third-party spec line reading weakly acidic, pH 6.5 or below, which is a ceiling wide enough to mean almost anything. Skip it if you are pregnant or your skin is currently compromised, since two salicylate sources sit in the list and the label's own suitable for all skin types line is contradicted by its own under-three restriction.

What makes it different?

Eleven ingredients is short even for a minimalist toner, and the composition is unusual in what it leaves out: there is no purified water on the list at all, the base being mineral water, willow bark water and apple fruit water in the first three positions. That willow bark water is a second salicylate source alongside the declared BHA, which is the part the marketing never mentions and the part a pregnant reader should. The label names a contract manufacturer with COSRX as responsible distributor, and marks the product as carrying no functional-cosmetic registration.

What is in it?

The full ingredient list as the brand publishes it, in the printed order. Each name links to what we know about that ingredient.

Ingredients with no mark are ones we found nothing notable about, and when marks overlap on one ingredient we show the caution first.
