What is this product?
A lotion to reach for if dullness and uneven tone are the problem and dry skin can take a rich, oil-forward texture: niacinamide is printed at 2 percent, seventh of 83 ingredients, and the product is filed with Korean regulators for both brightening and wrinkle improvement on niacinamide and adenosine. Do not buy it for the vitamin C, which is disclosed at 0.001 percent, orders of magnitude below the level ascorbic acid studies use. It contains a fragrance compound plus five declared allergens, so scent-reactive skin should look elsewhere.
What makes it different?
Seven of the 83 entries carry a printed amount, and those numbers rearrange the story the name tells. Sea buckthorn water leads at 596,692 ppm (59.67 percent), which puts it in the solvent role rather than the botanical-garnish role, while niacinamide at 20,000 ppm (2 percent) is the ingredient actually carrying the brightening filing. The vitamin the product is named for is the weakest thing in it: ascorbic acid at 10,000 ppb works out to 0.001 percent. Eight plant oils and a dozen hydrolyzed plant proteins give it a lotion body far richer than a toning essence, which suits dry skin and works against oily skin. The trade-off is scent: a fragrance compound plus limonene, linalool, hexyl cinnamal, citronellol and citral are printed at the end of the list, an avoid signal that the two same-line capsule products should not be assumed to share.
